I was born in Clarksville, AR, raised in Little Rock, AR, and moved to Mountain View, AR in 1979. After working for 23 years for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, first as radio operator for 13 years, then as a fisheries technician for 10 years, I retired in 2005. Now seems to be the time to finally pursue my lifelong desire to draw and paint.

I have taken lessons from many different instructors. Ernie Kilman, oil artist, from Eureka Springs, AR; Richard Stephens, watercolor artist, from Hot Springs, AR; Marie Babb, acrylic artist, from Memphis, TN; Cynthia Schanink, watercolor artist, from Russellville, AR; Bill Garrison, oil artist, from Hot Springs, AR; Carol Terry, acrylic artist from Florida/AR; and local artists, Peggy Taylor, Sue Coon, and Betty Ward. I feel that I have gained so much experience by taking classes with some of the finest teachers, and I have gained confidence in my painting ability.

I enjoy all mediums, oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel and pen and ink. I can’t decide which I love the best. When someone asks which medium I prefer, I say the one I am using at the time.
